BEHIND THE MAKING OF DROP 1.

We want to bring you along with us at every step of the way in creating each unique drop of Hermit London pyjamas.

To give as much insight as possible into the creative process and steps into the making of the brand. For us to also importantly learn and work with your feedback on each limited drop in order to keep developing and creating one a kind styles just for you that we hope get better and better.

We will try and show you some behind the scenes photos and content so here we go..

FROM THE BEGINNING.

DECEMBER - FEBRUARY 2021.

After months of contacting and speaking to the top 5 star hotels in London and around the UK, we began the journey of getting our hands on enough sheets for the first limited drop of Hermit London pyjamas!

MAKE IT BRITISH.

MARCH 2021.

Our next step was to find somewhere in the UK to make and develop the patterns for our first drop. Through Make It British we found our amazing studio in Somerset adamantly wanting to support a small female led business, who have worked with us from pattern to pyjamas. We sent our first mood board over and initial drawings which then started the process of making up the first toile.

A huge part of what we set out to do was to make sure everything from buttons to each trim was sourced in the UK, hoping to support small businesses and reduce our carbon footprint with our main goal to be carbon neutral; we are glad to call our pyjamas truly British.

THE HERMIT LOGO.

APRIL 2021.

We started to get really excited when we began to build the logo and branding with Charlie in April. First talking about colours and shells of course. He worked his magic and started pulling it all together.

DEVELOPING THE PATTERN.

APRIL 2021.

We wanted to create two similar styles of white pyjamas for our first drop to learn which one you loved more in order to develop the next drop. Believing that you our customers should be a big part of the whole design process to help us build the best products we could create.

NOT JUST FOR THE INDOORS.

With both of our styles we tried to develop a unique scallop collar which could be the perfect alternative to your big collared white blouse. It took a lot of work to perfect but we got their finally! and we love our final version we had to put it on both styles. We think it looks great under a jumper and tucked into your favourite jeans, we know as we had to test it ourselves!

READY TO SHOOT.

JUNE 2021.

Finally we had got there and with our two samples of both styles we were ready to shoot. Our first shoot was all set up in Ellas house in Oxford on a day that was supposed to be sunny but ended up raining for most of the day - the British summer of course!

BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER.

JULY 2021.

Everything was coming together which was a great feeling as Hermit London had definitely had lots of hiccups on the way but as always a great learning process.

We powered through making the website.. well Charlie did more of his magic and make it look effortless so we hope you like it as much as we do.

Sourcing all packaging and printing took quite a bit of searching and investigation as we very keen to find somewhere that was using only recycled materials. Print.Work based in Leeds was that discovery and has been amazing allowing all our postcards and tags to be printed on 100% recycled and FSC paper.

DROP 1 IS ANNOUNCED.

TUESDAY THE 13TH OF JULY @10AM.

We really hope you like our first drop of pyjamas as much as we have enjoyed our journey in bringing them to life!
